Our New 2005 RV purchased from
Taking delivery on 4-11-05. Mark, our salesman, is on the right.
On the previous page I mentioned that we had been visiting local RV dealers in the Madison WI area to look at RV's. Our preference would be to locate a clean used unit, or a new one but only if it had exactly what we wanted as we had some very specific requirements. Our search was not successful but there was one more dealer we planned to visit on our way home.
As it was just about lunch time and both Val and I were getting hungry so we decided to get a bite to eat, discuss making the purchase, and return after lunch. Mark said Burlington RV would buy our lunch, which was a welcome surprise.
Meeting in Mark's office after lunch we noticed the many certificates on the wall that Mark had been presented for top salesman and I think we were fortunate having him as our salesman.
The price with our Trail Lite trade in that Mark presented was very comptitive. Unknown to Mark we had looked at this very same model, with different options, at the big RV show in Rosemont, IL. a month earlier so had some knowledge of what the discounted price should be. After crunching some numbers the monthly payments came out to about $100 more then we were already paying, but for a longer term. This was certainly affordable so we closed the deal.
I was very impressed with our treatment and told Mark "This has been the best buying experience I have ever had when purchasing a new vehicle or RV".
It is obvious from the moment you walk in the door at Burlington RV that this is very professionally run organization. Every employee we met conducted themselves in a very professional and courteous manner. The store itself is very clean and well maintained. They have a very well stocked RV parts and accessories section and give a 10 percent discount to RV purchasers.
But probably the most impressive surprise was when we returned to pick up our RV a month later. As we were entering the door the receptionist greeted us by name as if she had known us for ages! Now I don't know if she actually remembered us or if Burlington RV has a system in place for the receptionist to recognize their customers but it certainly was a pleasant surprise.

We were running out of time to look at RV's as we felt we needed to really concentrate on getting the house ready to sell. After we left the cottage, as we were on our way, I told Val that we should probably just keep the trailer we have even if it was a little small. We were tired of looking.
The Burlington RV Super Store was a little out of the way but we were told they were the largest RV dealer in WI so we included it in our route. When we arrived at Burlington RV we were introduced to Mark Merkling and we met with Mark in his office to tell him what we were looking for. Mark said he had a couple of units that might meet our requirements.
The first unit, a used model, was eliminated so it was on to the next, a new 33' Mountaineer made by Keystone/Montana. Almost immediately we fell in love with it. Val liked the kitchen and closet space in the bedroom and I liked the long sofa that I could lie down and stretch out on. It had the floor plan we wanted with room to build in a computer desk, which was also a top priority. We liked the fact that this RV had been ordered from the factory with just about all the extra options available. It certainly more than met all of our requirements!
