Canadian Rockies Wildflowers

(July 15, 2007)
Lou says....

Everywhere we went in either Banff or Jasper we encountered numerous tour busses loaded with tourists. They would stop, exit the bus, then pose in unusual positions so a friend could snap a photo of them in front of some scenic attraction. Five minutes later the bus driver would hustle them back on the bus so they could go and do the same thing at the next stop.

I can't help feeling sorry for them because they don't know what they are missing. I hate being on a schedule. It is so nice to have the freedom to spend as much time as you want to enjoy the wonders of nature. Wildflowers are one of those wonders.

It can take us two or three hours to travel a stretch of road only five or ten miles long. On the trail a leisurely pace keeps us from missing a nearly hidden rare species.  Val has eagle eyes when it comes to spotting new and different wildflowers. Once spotted it then becomes my job to photograph these magnificent beauties.

I feel fortunate to be able to view natures wonders through the closeup lens and even more fortunate to be able to share with others what I see by posting the images on this web site.

So click on the wildflower photo gallery, at the right, and do spend time with each image to take an up close look at the details therein.
