Seward Alaska - Our second visit

The Sea Otter, above, entertained us on our first night in Seward. Val looked out the hotel window and spotted the Otter swimming around the boats moored in the harbor just below us. The Otter was not at all shy as people on the docks did not seem bother it. I grabbed my camera and we went down on the dock. We must have been there for almost a half hour taking photos and watching the Otter as it dove then came up with mussels to eat. The highlight of the day was when the Otter made a dive and came back up in a fighting match with a with a second Otter. They soon took their skirmish back under water and that was the last we saw of them. There is a great photo of this in the photo album.
Other than the whale watching cruise the only other thing we wanted to do was go back to the SeaLife center. When we were there before I was tired and not in the mood to take photos.
The SeaLife Center has many underground viewing locations where sea life in a natural environment can be viewed through hugh glass windows. The photography opportunities abound but you will need a tripod and camera capable of taking pictures in dim light.
The photos in the photo album give the impression that I was diving in the ocean, something I have a phobia with, but were actually taken through the glass. So enjoy the photos and just imagine what it is like to be diving in the ocean.
Oh yes, I found this link for a web cam in Seward and thought you might like to take a look. The view from the web cam is nearly identical to the view from our hotel window.
