The Southwest - Winter 2007
16 Hours of Fireworks!
Lou says.....

Yes that's correct....four hours of fireworks every night for four days = 16 hours!

Every year the Western Pyrotechnics Association holds its annual convention in Lake Havasu City. The newest and most spectacular fireworks are shown by manufactures and distributors to potential customers.  These are mammoth displays! The rockets reach altitudes of 2,500-3,500 feet and some of the normal fireworks explode at heights of 1500 feet. It is very rare to see fireworks displays like this at your local fourth of July fireworks!

When we learned of the convention we just had to add this stop to our itinerary. Fortunately for our budget BLM lands were available for boondocking and, as it turned out, also a fantastic viewing spot for the fireworks.

Out of 800 photos about 100 were fantastic. I wanted to put all 100 in the albums but decided that would be a little over the top so instead I made 2 albums of 25 photos each. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Thank you WPA for the great show.
