The Southwest - Winter 2007
Ramblings
3-3-2007

Lou says.....

After almost two months on the road everything has gone well...except for Murphy days. We have been able to visit old friends make many new ones.

We had hoped to visit the Grand Canyon and Sedona again as well as seeing Monument Valley and the slot canyons at Page Arizona but the cold weather in those places and our other meanderings made it impractical to fit those visits into our schedule.

Boondocking has helped keep expenses down and at the moment we are in Mesa at Venture Out RV Resort using Bob and Laura Bingham's RV space. Thank you Bob and Laura! The RV spaces here are all privately owned by seniors over 55 and the peoplehere are warm and friendly. The park is tidy and neat, and their are always multiple activities planned every day. Val and I give it 10 stars.

After Lake Havasu City we went back to Usery Mountain county park where we had stayed three years ago. For nature lovers it is great to be able to step out your door directly into the wilderness. The scenery, sunrises and sunsets here are simply great.

And of course I can't forget to include some photos with this page.

From here we plan to start making our way back to Illinois via the southern route.  Plans are to stay a week or so with friends from Illinois who are wintering in South Texas then stop to visit my sister in Missouri. From there it is only a one day drive home.
