The Southwest - Winter 2007 Organstop Pizza with the worlds largest Wurlitzer organ
Lou says.....
Have you ever been standing next to a freight train as it speeds by? The ground rumbles, the roar is deafening and you can feel the sound waves beating against your chest!
This is exactly the the same experience you get from Organstop's organ as it simulates a freight train for its opening song, if you can call it a song. We were seated on the balcony and the floor shook. At first I thought they had installed hydraulic shakers in the floor...you know, the kind they use in the seats at Disney World's theater, but it was in reality the sound waves from the organ doing the shaking.
Organstop claims this is largest Wurlitzer organ in the world!
In 2004 when we last ate at Organstop they claimed the number of pipes to be 5000. More have been added and now the number has reached nearly 6000 and the organ masters that sit at the huge keyboard are renowned world wide.
So what do you think the tickets cost? The answer is nothing! The entertainment is included in the price of the pizza. Oh yes, if you didn't catch it from the title, Organstop is a pizza restaurant. The pizza is great and costs no more than your local pizza joint.
When in the Mesa area this is must stop destination.
I have created a short slide show with music clips from the organ. This is great full fidelity music so put on your best headphones or connect your computer to your sound system, turn up the bass, turn up the volume and enjoy the show! Can you believe this orchestra sounding music comes from a single musician at the keyboard?
